1st inning- Michael talk to us about how important baseball and sports in general were to you as a kid?
When I was a little kid I was always walking around with a bat an a ball on my hands ever since I was born its been my life i always use to play basketball with my friends, I love sports especially baseball.
2nd inning- I would imagine growing up in one of the 5 boroughs of New York City is quite a unique experience. When you are not on the baseball field can you describe a typical day for you in New York City?
A typical day for me is wake up an go ask my mom to make me breakfast, go out with my childhood friends an spend the whole day with them laughing an making jokes with them… and in the night ill just watch movies with my sister
3rd inning- Kids that are from cold weather states have to work a little harder to get noticed. I know you took advantage of showcasing your talents but could you tell our fans what you did to put yourself on the map?
What I did to put my self on the map was work extra hard every single day I use to wake up in the morning at 4 o clock to go run hills and hit with my hitting coach. whether it was snowing, raining, or freezing, training is very important to me.
4th inning- You attended George Washington HS which is a school that has quite a list of famous alumnus that include Rod Carew, Manny Ramirez, Alan Greenspan, Harry Belafonte, Ron Perlman, and Henry Kissinger. Were you aware of the history of your school when you were there?
Yes I was I knew that my coach had coach Steve Mandl had coached Manny Ramirez and I wanted him to coach me which is the best thing that happened to me because of all his dedication he had with me and the team!
5th inning- If you could go back and give the 12 year old version of yourself advice what would you tell yourself?
ALWAYS HAVE A SMILE ON YOUR FACE and enjoy everything you do because there is great things coming for you.
6th inning- If a scout watched you for 5 games what would his scouting report look like?
Plays hard and loves the game of baseball, shows passion and dedication.
7th inning- The Royals have a few bilingual potential stars in Eric Hosmer and Christian Colon. You are bilingual too…what is your heritage and how has that helped you as a Royals minor leaguer?
DOMINICAN,it helps me because i could communicate with everybody and get along with them which is an honor for me and builds great chemistry, I am extremely proud of my culture and my background.
8th inning- The Royals drafted you in the 3rd round last season. I have heard rumblings that there was a team that was on your heels and ready to take you. Were you surprised the Royals took you and were you prepared to be drafted by someone else?
Yes I was on the phone with Tampa,no i wasn’t surprise because all the royals scouts had come to see me,yes i was prepared to get drafted by someone else since i had spoken to all 30 teams before the draft
9th inning- You are what baseball people call “projected talent with a projectable body” what do you think scouts mean by this and what position do you see yourself settling into?
I THINK SCOUTS MEAN by that, that soon i’ll be an all star player and I see myself being an a all star player,and at shortstop,
extra innings- If you could go to the ultimate concert who would you see and what teammates would you take. Also you can take one celebrity and one current major league baseball platyer
Jay Z because I think he is a good singer, 1 of his best song for the opening and 1 of his newest song for last, and as regard to who I would take, I would love to pick all of my Royal team mates but if I were to pick 1, I would pick Darwin Castillo, Alex Rodriguez and Alyssa Milano.
