Happy Holidays-Thank You and a preview of things to come

All of us at PTP wanted to thank you for another great year…

I have not had near the time to write that I have had in the past but I feel so good about the team we have built here. A special shout out to Clint Scoles and David Lesky for holding down the fort and doing the weekly podcasts.

Bob Stalder….without you I would be staring at a blank screen. You are a true friend and what you do is more appreciated than you will ever know

Darin Watson, Paul York, Shawn Rebman, Andrew Blobaum, Joshua Ward, Levi Payton, and David Clarke thank you, thank you, thank you

Sarah Clark has added so much to the site with her wonderful tailgate recipes. Seriously, when you try some of these send us a pic and let’s talk about it

Our message board has not taken off the way some thought. But, that is o.k as it still provides you with another way to talk about subjects that matter to you. I have always felt the main site was the heart and soul of what we do.

We have seen many of the players who have been so good to PTP finally make their big league debuts in Clint Robinson and David Lough. We have seen our friend Wil Myers get traded to Tampa. I hope that because of us you knew more about the Patrick Leonard’s of the world and could go to the water cooler and tell your friends about the power hitting 3rd baseman.

When I started my first site (light hitting infielder which became Royals prospects and now Pine Tar Press) I wanted it to be a site that was not just baseball but also many of the things in life that I find interesting. I wanted to have a place that rivaled the newspaper I grew up with. When, we had real local writers telling us about the Royals, Chiefs, Comets…the newest movies like Flash Gordon and TV Shows like the White Shadow. The new album released by the Police. I wanted all of that and more….

So, starting soon you will see PTP introduce new writers like Erik Gratton who will bring a unique perspective on film and TV. This site will grow and don’t worry the baseball coverage will remain the highest priority. I have my SEC credential and am so excited about covering the SEC baseball season with trips to Missouri and Arkansas. Team by Team previews and their keys to Omaha will begin soon.

The plan will be to eventually have this site read like a classic newspaper with your Pine Tar Press section, the soon to be named sections of the other categories. In the end, I want this to be a one click stop towards many of our cravings.

If, any of these subjects interest you and you want to be considered for a role with this team please let me know.

Again…thank you and Happy Holidays

Much love and respect

Greg Schaum

Thanks, Greg! It’s been an honor being part of this site for the past several months. This sounds like a cool plan and I’m looking forward to watching us grow!

  • Bob Stalder

Thanks Greg for the kind words. I am looking forward to expanding our horizons in the coming months

It has been a truly awesome year being part of such a great team. Thanks for bringing me on. I am proud to be part of this. And, by the way, excited to have Erik Gratton come on as part of the group as well as he is a friend I have worked with in the past.
