J.P.’s thoughts from Tuesday, March 13th while in Surprise with the Royals

Well, I had another great day at Spring Training! I got to meet Dina from the
Royals and she took us past the red line so we could see the stretching field
closer and watch practice from the other side of the plate. I got to see George
Brett up close but I didn’t talk to him because he was working. I actually didn’t
talk to any Royals back there because they were all busy practicing. After I
watched for a little bit I left and tried to run down home run balls but all the big
kids and grownups were getting them. Then we decided to go into the stadium.

We went to our seats and they were awesome because they were right next to
the dugout. I got some autographed balls from Mitch Maier, David Lough and
Clint Robinson. I also got Brayan Pena on my baseball card, Lorenzo Cain, Chris
Getz and Alcides Escobar on their baseball cards. I got to take my picture with
Jarrod Dyson (That’s what speed do!) aka “Lightning”, Lorenzo Cain, Alcides
Escobar and Brayan Pena. I also talked to Frenchy and told him we need a new
handshake and I showed it to him.

The Royals did awesome today and they got 16 hits and won 7-5. Alex Gordon
and Lorenzo Cain each hit a home run! Frenchy got a RBI and so did other
Royals. Alex Gordon made a good play by getting the ball fast and throwing it
into the catcher when a Red tried to score and we got him out.

I’m so glad we won and I can’t wait to go to the next spring training game
tomorrow night! GO ROYALS!!!!!!!

About The Author

Born and raised in the Kansas City area, I was fortunate enough to have a Grandfather that was a huge Baseball fan. He first introduced me to the Kansas City Athletics when I was only 3 years old. He took me to many early Royals games in old Municipal Stadium and I was lucky enough to see some of the greatest moments in Royals history (so far).I am a die-hard Royals fan and a walking encyclopedia of Royals History. I take great pride in that.
